Under Construction
Don't worry - you're at the right place. I'm experimenting with a different format/template that will be easier for me to use. Things may look a bit crazy/different until I get it the way I'd like. Bear with me!
That is such a sweet story Lauren. I am so glad you shared it. I was really nervous until I heard from you and Brian yesterday. Glad everything was okay. Counting the days til Friday! Love you all..
Well, hello there. In case this is the first time we've met, here's the scoop: I started blogging in 2011 when I was pregnant with my daughter as a way for friends and family to keep up-to-date on my morning sickness and weight gain. Good times! When my daughter, Ashlyn, was born in Jan 2012, the blog became a good excuse to post way too many photos of the CUTEST BABY EVER. I believe my loyal readers appreciate this valuable service I am providing. I work full time at a job that does not appreciate the joys of online journaling. So my blogs are few and far between, but that’s life. When not working, I love spending time with my family, drinking wine, eating everything, enjoying the sunshine and being a mom. Thanks for stopping by!
I believe that becoming a parent - no matter how you got there - is one of the most soul-shaking experiences you will ever have. It's beautiful and ugly and indescribable all at the same time.
I believe that parenting is not one size fits all. Only you know what is truly best for your child. Different strokes for different folks and all that.
I believe that listening to too many other people's opinions about how you should parent your child causes you to forget to trust your own instincts - and your instincts are usually right.
I believe that having a supportive family is one of the only things that keeps me sane at the end of the day. Except when my family are the ones who drive me insane, which is often.
I believe that you can never, ever give out too many hugs, kisses or I love yous if you genuinely mean them.
I believe that the best remedy for a rough day is a hot bubble bath, a glass (okay, bottle) of red wine and a good book.
I believe that I am one lucky girl because I have a husband who still loves me despite those extra pounds and my difficulty in finding the shower and makeup on a daily basis. And he gets to share in the poopy diaper changing. And he still makes me laugh and blush like a school girl.
What I cannot believe is how much I love my daughter. It's seriously crazy how much joy that tiny being gives me.
