Daddy running out

Two years of sleep
No, that's not right
You'd rather be
Up all night

Two years of growing
Learning new things
Colors and numbers
And songs to sing

Two years of toys
House full of clutter
Will only get worse
With sister or brother

Two years of adventure
Wanting to see
Through your eyes
New wonder and beauty

Two years of forgetting
Life before you
With so much time
What did we do?

Two years of smiles
Snuggling and hugs
